Gatwick and the roads south of London
Gatwick lies well to the south of London, in West Sussex near Crawley, with its own spur off the M23. Coming from central London, the route usually crosses south London before joining the motorway, and that urban stretch is where most of the variation in journey time comes from. Gatwick has two terminals, North and South, connected by a free shuttle for passengers. They are some distance apart by road, so it is important to know which one you are using before the day.
