Licensing and checks
Every chauffeur must hold a valid private hire driver licence issued by the licensing authority for the area where they work. In London, that authority is responsible for deciding who may drive private hire vehicles, and it sets its own requirements for medical fitness, knowledge and background checks. We do not accept drivers without a current licence, and we keep a record of each licence and its expiry date.
Licensing authorities require enhanced background checks before granting a licence. We check that a driver's licence is valid before they join us, and our system stops a driver being assigned to a journey if a required document has expired. The same applies to the vehicles they drive: licence, insurance and roadworthiness documents must be current.
Before your pickup we send you the driver's first name, their private hire licence number and the vehicle registration, so you can check you are getting into the right car. Our safety page explains how.

Conduct and presentation
We ask our chauffeurs to behave the way you would want a professional to behave in your own car.
- Punctual. Arrive at the pickup in good time and keep you informed if anything changes.
- Courteous and discreet. Conversation is your choice. Business calls and private matters stay private.
- Smartly presented. Clean, tidy dress appropriate to the journey, and a clean, well-kept vehicle.
- Helpful. Help with luggage, door opening where wanted, and patience with passengers who need extra time.
- Safe and calm driving. Smooth, lawful driving with no use of a handheld phone.
- Fair. No refusal on grounds of disability, and assistance dogs are always welcome.

Local knowledge and training
Good chauffeurs know their city. We look for drivers who understand the airports, the main hotels and business districts, and the ways traffic behaves at different times of day. That knowledge is what gets you to a terminal calmly, or finds the right entrance at a busy venue.
When a chauffeur joins us, we take them through how we work: our booking records, using the driver portal to acknowledge jobs and update each stage of a journey, meeting passengers at airports and ports, recording payments correctly and reporting any issue. We share feedback with drivers when customers raise it, and we follow up where standards have slipped.
If a chauffeur falls short of these standards, please tell us. Every report is recorded and looked at, and it helps us keep standards high for everyone. You can reach us through our contact page.

Questions about our chauffeurs
Are all your chauffeurs licensed?
Yes. Every chauffeur must hold a valid private hire driver licence from the licensing authority for their area. Drivers with an expired licence cannot be assigned to journeys.
Will I know who my chauffeur is before pickup?
Yes. We send you the driver's first name, their licence number and the vehicle registration before your pickup.
Can I request a chauffeur I have travelled with before?
You are welcome to ask. We will try to accommodate the request, but we cannot guarantee a particular driver.
How do I give feedback about a chauffeur?
